Species Description
Common and widespread throughout the South. Habitat includes: Places near to / with Oak trees such as gardens, parks, allotments, churchyards, woodland, hedgerows, scrub etc. Length: 13 - 17 mm. Adults seen: July to November. Life story: A completely arboreal species. It is the only Bush-cricket which is largely carnivorous. Diet: other insects. Eggs are laid in crevices in bark or under moss or lichen. Other names include: Drumming Katydid.
