Species Description
Common and widespread throughout the UK. Habitat includes: woodlands, Hedgerows, gardens, pars, cemeteries, allotments, wetlands, farmland, ditches etc. Flight period: March to November. Diet: many sorts of flowers. Spring males defend small territories. Larvae live in organically rich pools such as farmyard drains, woodland pools, ditches etc.
