Species Description
Widespread throughout the Southern half of the UK. Habitat includes: Sunny locations with plenty of wildflowers e.g. meadows, gardens, allotments, parks, cemeteries, road side verges, fields etc. Adults feed on pollen and nectar. Larvae develop in dead, hollow stems of various herbaceous plants. Flight period: May to August. Length= 5-8mm.
