Species Description

Very scattered and Local distribution in England and Wales. Habitat includes: Woodland, shrubland, heaths, chalk quarries, cliffs, gardens, cemetaries, allotments. Anywhere around the nest site of it's hosts (uses many species of host but I've seen them use Red mason bees)-they quickly sneak into a chamber when the adult Mason bee has gone foraging for mud and pollen, then where the pollen has been stored they lay an egg. When the larvae/instar hatches it first eats the pollen stores of the host with a large set of mandibles then changes mandibles to a smaller set and eats the host larvae itself).
