Scambus brevicornis - Scambus brevicornis

Species Description
Appears to be widespread. Habitat includes: meadows, grassland etc. Seems to have an association with composites such as Oxeye Daisy and Ragwort where the females oviposite into and around the capitulum. From my own observations, its potential hosts include: Tephritis neesii and Drill moths (Dichrorampha). Very similar to Scambus Unidentified 1 but rear coxa red except at base and legs a lighter more orange colour.
