Species Description
Little is known about this species. But its probably quite widespread and frequent. Habitat includes: woodland edge, meadows, hedgerows, road side verges. Length= 13-18mm. Identification: Male has all dark antennae, no yellow spot to the tip of the abdomen, Female has Long tapered abdomen, first half yellow and rear half black, with yellow spot at the tip. Flight period: April to July. Diet: Larva parasitise the Large Yellow Underwing and Setaceous Hebrew Character moth caterpillars, the adult wasp lays its eggs inside the caterpillar, the developing larva then eats it from the inside out.
