Species Description
Fairly widespread throughout England. Less frequent elsewhere. Habitat includes: gardens, meadows, hedgerows, cemeteries, parks, allotments. Length= 10-18mm. Flight period: May to September. The Female visits nests of various solitary species of bees and wasps an pushes her ovipositor into the nest laying her eggs on or near the eggs of the host. When they hatch they will feed on the grubs and the stored food.
