Species Description
Widespread and locally frequent throughout the UK. Habitats include: Well drained, calcareous soils such as chalk, limestone, sands, gravels in places such as short grassland, heaths, downland, sea-cliffs, sand dunes, rock outcrops / hummocks (calcareous mires), mountains, rocks, ledges etc. There are 2 subspecies: ssp britannicus, ssp. ligusticus. Flowers: May to September. Perennial. Other names include: Coconut Thyme. Height: Up to 10 cm.
