Species Description
Fairly common and widespread South of the Humber elsewhere it is restricted to coasts. Habitat includes: Disturbed places such as gardens, parks, allotments, churchyards, wasteland, roadside verges, arable land, tips, pond / ditch margins, coasts, beeches, shingle, dunes, salt marshes. It's increasing inland due to salt spray on roads. Growing habit: Annual (halophyte). Height: Up to 90 cm. Leaf length: Up to 6 cm. Flowers: July to October. Other names include: Hastate Orache, Thin-leaf Orache, Triangle Orache, Fat-hen.
