Species Description
Widespread but local in the South Western parts of the UK around coasts. Elsewhere it is scattered and scarce. Habitat includes: Dry, grassy places with infertile, drought-prone soil sited in warm, sheltered, South facing slopes such as grassland-scrub mosaics, coasts, cliff-slopes, coombes, path sides, field margins, roadside verges, railway banks, old quarries etc. Growing habit: Annual / Biennial / Short-lived Perennial. Flowers: June to September. Height: Up to 60 cm. Other names include: Narrowleaf Flax.
