Species Description
Widespread and fairly frequent throughout the UK. Habitat includes: Dam, open, often acidic places such as damp grassland, lane-sides, woodland edge, walls etc.
Possibly T. pseudolarssonii. Most like T. subbracteatum
Found at Blaise Castle Meadows. Capitula 5cm, phyllaries appressed-erect, 10mm in length, ligules grey-purple, pollen few but present, leaves with 4 pairs of lateral lobes plus terminal, petiole and midrib upperside interwoven purple, underside green-white with purple margin towards the petiole end. Achene brown, 1.3mm - 3.5mm (cone and beak), 9.5mm (spine).
