Species Description

Common and widespread throughout the UK. Habitat includes: Disturbed places such as gardens, parks, allotments, churchyards, wasteland, roadside verges, spoil heaps, arable fields, manure heaps, tips, river banks, pond margins, coasts, salt marshes, sand dunces, shingle, sea-bird cliffs etc. Growing habit: Annual. Flowers: July to October. Height: Up to 80 cm. Other names include: Spear Saltbush, Spear Orache, Spreading Orache.
