Species Description
Fairly common and widespread throughout the UK. Habitat includes: Disturbed places such as allotments, gardens, arable fields, wasteland, roadside verges etc. Flowers: May to August. Growing habit: Annual, self pollinating. Height: Up to 60 cm. The name derives from the shape of the seeds looking like an old English penny. Other names include: Stink-weed, Bastard Cress, Fan-weed, French-weed, Mithridate Mustard. Each seed pod contains up to 14 seeds.
