Species Description
Probably R. radula x R. eboracensis
Intermediate in leaf shape and texture. Stems like R. radula but with more dense prickles - from R. eboracensis. Flowers also intermediate, being ever so slightly cup-shaped (R. eboracensis), held on a panicle that is both small and compact but branches at low angles, making it narrowly pyramidal, and long prickles on the rachis - like R. radula. If this hybrid turns out to deserve species status then I would probably describe it with the name Rubus crossensis (Cross Bramble) after the location it was found at (Cross Gill) but also because of its low-sprawling, partially erect stems that have a habit of crossing over one another.
