Species Description

Widespread and fairly frequent in England but less so elsewhere. Habitat includes: gardens, parks, allotments, cemeteries, hedgerows, woodland rides, roadside verges, scrub etc. Flight period: May to August. Length 6 - 9 mm. Diet: Adults eat small insects, larvae feed on the leaves of wild and cultivated roses and strawberry. Other names include: Banded Rose Spindler.
