Species Description
Fairly common and widespread throughout the UK. Habitat includes: Damp areas e.g. gardens, parks, hedgerows, meadows, heathland, moorland, woodland rides. Food plants: Cleavers and other bedstraws, Chickweed, Sea Wormwood, docks, sorrels and Dandelion. Wingspan= 20-25mm. Flight period: June to August. Four different subspecies occur, with the smaller and darker ones frequenting rocky places in northern Scotland and Ireland.
