Species Description

Local and widespread throughout the UK being more common in the Southern half than the Northern. Habitat includes: Damp places such as woodland, parks, gardens, allotments, churchyards etc. Diet: Larvae = Wild Angelica, Common Hogweed, Elder flowers (Spring generation). Flight period: 2 generations (May to June, July to August). Wingspan: 17 - 21 mm.
