Species Description
Common and widespread throughout the UK up to Southern Scotland where it becomes more scarce and local. Habitat includes: Damp places such as woodland, fens, river banks, canals etc. Flight period: June to August. Attracted to light. Wingspan 13 - 18 mm. Life story: Larvae are winter feeders and can be seen from Autumn through the winter where they pupate to emerge in late spring. Diet: Larvae = Cow Parsley, Burnet Saxifrage.
