Habitat includes: gardens, parks, allotments, churchyards, hedgerows, woodland, heathland, calcareous grassland, fens etc. Wingspan: 23 - 30 mm. 2 forms: Typical form and Plane form (ab. remutata). Flight period: June to August (a second generation in the Autumn sometimes occurs in the South). Diet: Larvae = Low growing plants such as Docks, Dandelions.
