Species Description
Common and widespread throughout the UK. Habitat includes: Well vegetated areas e.g. gardens, parks, allotments, meadows, grassland, road side verges, cemeteries, coasts, wasteland, hedgerows, woodland. Polyphagous on herbaceous plants such as Dock, Teasel, Mint and Plantain as well as deciduous trees and shrubs. I've observed them use Strawberry, Tutsan and White Clover. Wingspan= 30-35mm. On the wing in May to July, there is a second brood in southern England, appearing in August and September.
