Species Description
Widespread but local in the South and much more scarce in the North. It is most common in the Bristol Region. Habitat includes: places where Ox-eye Daisy occur e.g. meadows, grassland, roadside verges, railway banks, wasteland, gardens, parks, allotments, churchyards etc. Flight period: June to August (day time flying). Length: 7.5 mm. Wingspan: 14 mm. Life story: Adults are often found resting on the flowers of Ox-eye Daisy. Diet: Larvae = roots of Ox-eye Daisy.
