Species Description
Common and widespread throughout the UK but mainly in the South. Habitat includes: gardens parks, allotments, cemeteries, meadows, fields, road side verges, hedgerows, woodland rides. Flight period: March to November (Migrant species). Wing length: 6.5-10mm. Diet: Adults = Nectar and Pollen from various plants including Dandelions. Larvae = Aphids on a variety of plants.
