Species Description

Widespread and frequent in the Southern half of the UK. Habitat includes: grassland, scrub, wasteland, road side verges, gardens, allotments, parks, cemeteries etc. Flight period: May to September. larvae feed on Ant-attended (recorded on Lasius niger) Root Aphids.
