Species Description
Widespread and fairly frequent throughout the UK though it is more common in the West than the East and becomes more scarce in the far North of Scotland. Habitat includes: Damp, wet places often where it floods in the winter such as woodland, hedge banks, roadside verges, banks of rhynes, rivers, ditches, ponds. Height: Up to 30 cm. Perennial. Flowers: May to August. Other names include: Distant-spiked Sedge.
