Species Description
Widespread throughout the UK but most common around the coast and absent from mainland Wales, Eastern Scotland, Ireland, parts of the South West and East of England. Habitat includes: Dry, sandy, infertile, base-rich soils in places such as calcareous grassland, rock outcrops, screes, quarry heaps, old lead workings, cliff-tops, sand dunes etc. Height: Up to 40 cm. Perennial. Flowers: May to July.
