Species Description

Widespread and fairly frequent in the southern half of the UK. Habitat includes: places with Hawk's-beard's (Crepis spp.), Cat's-ears (Hypochaeris spp.) and Sowthistles (Sonchus spp.) such as meadows, grassland, roadside verges, field margins, gardens, parks, allotments, churchyards etc. Length: males = 4 - 5 mm, females = 5 - 6 mm.
