Species Description
Widespread and fairly frequent in the southern half of the UK, becoming scarce in the North. Habitat includes: grassland, sand dunes, heathland, acid grassland, woodland rides and clearings, gardens etc. Flight period: May to October (peaks in August). Length: 7 - 10 mm. Diet: Larvae = terrestrial snails, Adult = Nectar and dew.
