Species Description
Widespread and fairly frequent throughout the southern half of the UK, becoming scarce in the North. Habitat includes: scrubby grassland, woodland edge etc. Flight period: May to October. Length: Up to 20 mm. Life story: Predates various insects including: flies, moths, beetles, parasitic wasps, solitary wasps, bees etc.
