Species Description
Widespread and fairly frequent throughout England and Wales being more scattered elsewhere. Habitat includes: Places with its larval food plant (Umbellifers such as Celery, Parsnips, Common Hogweed etc.) grow in places such as gardens, parks, allotments, churchyards, woodland, scrub, hedgerows, grassland, meadows, road side verges, coasts, wasteland etc. Other names include: Celery-leaf Fly, Hogweed Picture-wing Fly. Flight period: April to November.
