Species Description
Widespread and fairly common throughout England and Wales. Habitat includes: Flower rich areas (in particular umbellifers) such as gardens, parks, allotments, cemeteries, meadows, grassland, woodland, hedgerows road side verges etc. Thought to 'dance' before rain. Diet: Larvae = feeds on rotting vegetation, Adult = carrion (I've seen Adults feed on the juice of dead slugs).
