Species Description
Widespread and locally frequent throughout the UK. It was once regarded as common but has undergone sharp decline (by 57% since the 1970s). Habitat includes: heaths, species-rich grassland, coasts, old quarries etc. Food plant: Fine grasses such as Fescue's (Festuca spp.), Meadow-grasses (Poa spp.), Bents (Agrostis spp.). Wingspan: 34 - 38 mm.
