Species Description
Widespread and fairly frequent only in the South. Habitat includes: Dry and damp places under logs and other rotting plant matter near to grass such as gardens, parks, allotments, cemeteries, woodland, hedgerows, wasteland, road side verges etc. Length: 5 - 6 mm. Other names include: Turtle Bug, Podops inunctus. Diet: Larvae = grasses. Adults lay eggs in Spring to early Summer.
