Species Description
Formerly scarce and only confined to southern heaths but has gone under rapid expansion and is now found throughout the southern half of the UK with a few records in the north. Habitat includes: heathland, grassland, scrub, woodland clearings, roadside verges, hedgerows, meadows, well-vegetated gardens, allotments, churchyards, wasteland etc. It appears to have a preference for yellow flowers; especially Common Ragwort and Great Mullein. Length: 6 - 7 mm.
