Species Description

Common and widespread throughout the UK. Habitat includes: gardens, parks, allotments, churchyards, woodland, scrub, hedgerows, wasteland, roadside verges, railway banks etc. Seen: All year round. Length: 13 - 15 mm. Life Story: There is one generation per year, adults mating and laying eggs in spring. The nymphs feed on dock and other related plants in the Polygonaceae family with new adults being found from August onwards.
