Species Description
Probably widespread in the South but very under-recorded. It is thought to be a recent colonist to Britain and seems to be spreading. It is a cosmopolitan species and its native origin is unknown. Habitat includes: Anywhere with the host (mostly Tutsan - Hypericum androsaemum here) in relatively mild situations such as gardens, parks, allotments, churchyards, woodland etc. Length: 0.9 - 1.8 mm. Other names include: Melon aphid, Cotton aphid.
