Diet
Insects, seeds, similar diet to blue tit
Description
the smallest Tit, makes up for its inability to lay down fat stores by hiding numerous species of food to be used when food is scarce. Rather dull in colour, white cheeks, nape-patch, double wing bar. Sexes similar, Juvenile has nape, cheeks, underparts washed dull yellow.
Habitat
predominantly coniferous woodland, sometimes deciduous, gardens, parks, allotments, anywhere with mature trees near by
Breeding
Usually occurs between March and April. Sometimes nests in holesin the ground or among tree roots, occasionally uses nest boxes.

common resident (60,000 breading pairs)

Sparrowhawks, cats, foxes, badgers, Corvids (eats the eggs and fledglings e.g. Jay)

Confusion species
Smaller and duller in colour than great Tits and Blue Tits, with unique white nape
