Species Description
Widespread throughout the UK apart from the North East Of Scotland and South mainland of Ireland. Habitat includes: Ponds, lakes, reservoirs, rivers, canals etc. Measurements: Length = 46 - 51 cm, Wingspan = 85 - 90 cm, Weight = 590 - 1,500 g. Population: breeding = 4,600 pairs, wintering = 19,000 individuals. Diet: Small fish, Aquatic insect larvae etc.
