Species Description
Widespread and fairly frequent in the Southern half of the UK, becoming scarce further North. Habitat includes: rough grassland, scrub, hedgerows etc. Seen: April to September (peaks May to July). Life story: The larvae feed on the roots of various plants such as Yarrow. Length: 4 - 5 mm.
