Species Description

Widespread but local in the Southern half of the UK, becoming patchy in the South West and Rare in the North. Habitat includes: Well-oxygenated water sources with abundant vegetation such as ponds, lake, reservoir margins, ditches, dykes, rhynes, fens, marshes etc. Seen: All year round (Peaks May to August).
