Species Description

Widespread and frequent throughout England and Wales, becoming more localised in Scotland and Ireland. Habitat includes: woodland. Life story: Adults feed on small insects such as mites and springtails etc. The larvae are predatory and develop under bark but may emerge to hunt on the surface at night. Seen: All year round. Length: 5 - 6 mm. Sometimes known as the Great Four-spot Treerunner.
