Species Description

Widespread and locally frequent throughout the UK but mainly in the South. Habitat includes: heathland, moorland, woodland etc. Life story: A cleptoparasite of various Mining Bees. Hosts: Andrena varians, A. synadelpha, A. helvola, A. fucata and A. fulva. Nomada panzeri can look very different depending on which host is used. Flight period: Late March to July.
