Species Description
Fairly common in the Southern half of the UK. It is one one the few members of Ichneumonidea that is actually fairly well-recorded on a national level. Habitat includes: Hedgerows, lush meadows, scrub, woodland clearings, road side verges, gardens, parks, allotments, cemeteries etc. Length = 15mm. Parasitises butterfly and moth larvae, laying a single egg in each one. Adults sometimes visit flowers (mainly umbellifers).
