Species Description
Widespread but local throughout the southern half of the UK, extending into parts of southern Scotland. Habitat includes: bare open ground, mostly on well-drained soils such as short patchy grassland, heaths, coasts, sand dunes, old quarries, golf courses, open woodland clearings etc. Life story: predates flies, mostly members of Muscidae. Flight period: Early June to Mid September.
