Widespread throughout the UK but most common in the South. Habitat includes: places with long grass or dense vegetation e.g. grassland, meadows, hedgerows, woodland rides and clearings, scrub, wasteland, gardens, parks, allotments, cemeteries, road side verges. Male length: 10-13 mm. Female length: 12-15 mm. Feeds on flies and other small insects. It chases its prey.
