Species Description

Scilla bithynica Boiss. - Turkish Squill.
Stems to 30cm, with (3)7-10(15) more or less erect flowers; bracts 2-3mm; tepals more or less patent, 5-10mm; (2n=12). Neophyte-naturalised; similar status to S. bifolia in churchyards and open woods and on banks; very scattered in Britain North to Midlothian, County Wexford, County Armagh; Turkey and Bulgaria.
