Species Description
Widespread but occasional throughout England and Wales and parts of Scotland. Habitat includes: shaded places often near habitation such as woodland, hedgerows, wasteland, churchyards, gardens, parks, allotments, lanes etc. Growing habit: Perennial. Flowers: June to September. When leaves are brushed they give off a smell leading to its name.
