Species Description

Fairly common and widespread throughout the UK particularly in the South. Habitat includes: walls, old quarries, wasteland, pavements, tips etc. Growing habit: Annual / short-lived Perennial. Flowers: Early Summer to Autumn. Has been cultivated since Elizabethan times and is very popular in gardens. It was first recorded in the wild by 1762.
