Mass planted in modern planting schemes as the cultivar 'Blue Spire'. Strong smelling - a bit like Rosemary. Very similar to Salvia abrotanoides (Caspian Sage) - formerly Perovskia atriplicifolia and the cultivar 'Blue Spire' has been suggested to be a hybrid between the two.
