Species Description
Scattered and very patchy but locally frequent where it does occur; mainly in West Wales, North West Midlands and North Scotland.

Geum macrophyllum Willd. - Large-leaved Avens.
Stems to 1m, erect; stipules 6-15mm; flowers erect, with patent, yellow petals 3.5-7mm; achenes in sessile elliptic-oblong head, with style glabrous or sometimes with glands near base; receptacle with sparse short hairs; (2n=42). Neophyte-naturalised; in woods and by paths; scattered in Britain from Cardiganshire to North Scotland, very rare in South England; North America and North East Asia.
