Species Description
Widespread and fairly frequent in the Southern half of the UK. Scattered elsewhere. Habitat includes: Roadside verges, pavements, tips, wasteland, quarries etc. Growing habit: Stoloniferous Perennial. Height: Up to 80 cm. Flowers: June to September. Other names include: Woolly Hedge-nettle, Stachys olympica, Stachys lanata (old name's). First cultivated in 1782 and was first recorded in the wild in 1858. Native to South West Asia.
